Using Alpha characters in Freight Order Numbers
So most of use know the standard numbering for freight orders using the 61XXXXXX series (example: 610029467).
We have been asked by our developers to consider using apha characters in the freight order ID - something like 61XYZNNNNN where N is a number (example: 61XYZ29467). Has to do with some complications with our EWM interface in a direct load scenario (long story here, EWM initiates the load, sends the TOR / freight order # to TM, TM records the freight order after-the-fact).
My gut reaction is that this change introduces unnecessary risk on the TM side as there are a lot of unknowns. Will TM behave "normally" with a freight order 61XYX29467? Will carriers be able to process and accept a tender this way? Will the EDI / VAN networks be able to accept orders with alpha characters? How will the Collaboration Portal behave? Any issues with settlement on the ECC side? How much will users be inconvenienced using POWL's that may not sort "high to low" in the conventional fashion? Etc. Etc.
Has anyone ever tried this?
I've been in the SAP space a long time and I do not ever recall trying to use alpha characters on transaction records. Master data, sure (materials, cost centers....). But not transactions.

Identify changes from TRQ vs system changes
Hi all,
Our customer wants to manage order changes in TM: when a planned FU is changed (date change, quantity change, etc), an indicator will be marked.
To do so, we would like to use the Change Controller settings.
But the difficulty is managing changes coming from the TRQ vs system changes.
For example, when a delivery is created, the DTR is created and the FU is updated with dates/times from the delivery: we don't want that to trigger the indicator.
Do you have any suggestions/recommendations on identifying changes from a TRQ vs system changes vs delivery creation?

Different Set of Events in Freight Order and Freight Booking
Hi Experts,
I'm new to TM and currently struggeling with a issue.
The requirement is that there should be a different set of execution infos in the execution tab for freight orders (land transport) and freight booking (sea transport). Every time I create a freight order or a freight booking, the same set of events appear in the execution tab for both documents. What are the steps to fulfill the requirement that different events appear in the execution tabs of FO's/FB's?

Problems in Load planning TM 9.3
Hi ,
We are trying to implement load planning on TM 9.3 Versi0n.
We have maintained all the basic settings for load Planning.
- 1) I created 3d layouts for load plan and added the colours, context menu.
- 2) We created Load planning settings in NWBC and assigned to Planning profile
- 3) We maintained weight /volume related information in Resources( Trucks)
Issue # 1
The below link speaks about Resource Configurator
- Ø We are not able to see any resource configurator option in transportation cockpit.
- Ø Where do we see that option in TM?

One time BP
Hello Team,
Is there any possibility to create one time BP and later on use it in FB ?
We have a scenario where contact person of a LSP changes frequently and it is not fixed. Email is sent to that contact person.
We thought to use concept called one time BP in TM like we have in ECC ( one time customer or one time vendor).
Any proposal is welcome.

TM 9.3 Web Service Configuration
Hello Experts,
I am implementing TM 9.3 and we don't have PI in our landscape. I have configured ECC and TM with web service configuration for consumer proxy - SLO_TransportationRequestSUITERequest_Out using tx - SOAMANAGER and configured ECC to launch output TRS0 successfully. But sales order message didn't transferred to TM, when I see TRS0 output processing log I got below message

Diagnosis
The system could not find a business system identification for the current client 300 in the system ED1 in the Landscape Directory.
Procedure
Check that the data for the client is correctly maintained in the Landscape Directory. The client must be an instance of class SAP_BCClient. Using an association of type SAP_BusinessSystemViewedBCClient, an instance of class SAP_BusinessSystem must be assigned to the client.

Excel Integration in TM 9.0
Dear all,
I'm trying to use the Excel integration for the rate tables in the charge management. The download of the rate table into Excel works. However the upload back to the TM system doesn't work. I tryed to change the XLSX-format into a XML-format, but the table is write protectet and I need a password to unlock the Excel table. Also I tryed to upload the table in the original XLSX-format, but all the time I get the same error: "Error when uploading; the file name is invalid or the file is too large". I didn't change the name of the file and I think this is not the reason. Do anyone know this problem and has a solution?
In TM 8 I didn't have this problem, I could upload the excel file back to the TM system.

Mass Upload of Freight Agreement in SAP TM

Incompatibility Settings/Conditions
Hi there,
I am currently trying to figure out the incompatibility settings. They are a bit of a mystery to me.
I would like to use incompatibilities to exclude certain transshipment locations from being considered during the planning optimization, or the generating of transportation proposals respectively.
Setup example:
Origin location: A
Destination location: B
Transshipment locations: C,D,E
Three routes:
A-C-B
A-D-B
A-E-B
A-C-B is the only proposal I would like to see during the planning of the Freight Unit.
Is it possible to block the proposals containing transshipment locations D and E via incompatibility settings?
If yes, how would I achieve that?
I tried to set up two conditions; one containing the Shipper BP (which is the origin location A) and the other containing the transshipment locations D and E.
As you may have guessed, that didn't work.
Or is there another way to get to the same result?
Ideally, this should be possible with master data and no or very few config changes.

Tax code error for Auto PO generation from TM to ERP
HI All,
Hoping someone can assist.
We have been processing ERS from TM to ERP for a month now but in the last few instances have received an error for the same vendor "In Case of evaluated receipt settlement, please enter tax code".
I cannot identify anything that has changed recently for the process or vendor. And no other discussions seem to be able to assist.
Is anyone able to assist?

MIRO & FSD integration login requested
Hello everyone,
I was asked to configure the MIRO - FSD integration, that is, the user on MIRO can have access to the FSD detail.
Webservice & consumer proxy configuration is done and OK, but when the user clicks on the detail button for the FSD, we get a login window.
According to documentation, a trusted relationship is needed between ECC - TM.
Trusted relationship is done and OK, authorization checks from SMT1/SMT2 are OK.
but I still get the login window.
any idea what am I missing?

Enable Approval Workflow for Freight Agreement RFQ
Hello all,
we are using Freight Agreement RFQ to get rates for transportation services. In RFQ type (customizing) the Approval workflow is activated. Statusmof Freight Agreement RFQ is "Awaiting Approval of Agreement Creation". There is no worklfow started (no workitems created, transaction SWI1).
How can this workflow be activated and how can I award the carriers individuell RFQ??

SAP TM process for standard subcontracting
Dear TM group,
Has anyone implemented TM process for standard subcontracting for a shipper, i.e. movement of raw materials / components to subcontracting vendor and return movement of finished goods? A subcontracting PO is created on ECC with finished goods material as main item and components as sub items. We require one freight order from plant to vendor with components and another freight order from vendor to plant with finished material. Since this is standard ECC process, we are assuming there is a standard way to do in TM. Any inputs on how to model this process in TM along with where the cost is typically settled is greatly appreciated.
